Creamy, Decadent Banana Pudding

This is one of my favorite banana puddings to take to potlucks because it tends to please everyone from the kids to the adults, true southerners to Yorkers alike! This is the recipe my grandmother uses a lot for family get-togethers. It's quick, easy and just heavenly!  The addition of the sour cream really adds a special touch and ties all the flavors in perfectly so that it's not overly sweet or too rich like some banana puddings can be. Don't let the instant pudding throw you off if you're use to making your own pudding. This recipe taste so much better with instant pudding than with homemade pudding in my opinion. I made this dessert for a holiday party and a pilot was there and his exact words were "I've had banana pudding from all over the world but this stuff is first class!" I never seemed to forget that.  What a compliment!

Watch me make this dessert!

Creamy, Decadent Banana Pudding

Ingredients

3-6 bananas
2 boxes of instant Vanilla pudding
2 cups of milk
1 box of Nilla Wafers (You won't need the whole box, unless you just really like nilla wafers)
8 oz. container of Cool Whip
8 oz. container of sour cream

Direction

Step 1.) In a bowl, combine 2 packs of pudding and 2 cups of milk. Stir until creamy
Step 2.) Add in 8 oz of sour cream and 4 oz (half the container) of cool whip. Stir until combined.
Step 3.) In a dish, add a layer of chopped bananas and nilla wafers (don't be shy, add as much as you like!)
Step 4. ) Add a large spoonful of the pudding mixture and spread evenly over the wafer and bananas.
Step 5.) Repeat the layering process, ending with the pudding mixture.
Step 6.) Spread on the remaining Cool Whip
Step 7.) Top with Nilla Wafers
Refrigerate until well chilled & enjoy!

Just don't eat a whole freakin dish in 3 days like I did! This blog is making me fat I tell ya!
