Chicken with Oyster Sauce...A nice Chinese food recipe to try !
Ingredients :
- 4 oz. raw chicken breast
- 2 teaspoons cornflour
- 1 tablespoon water
- 1 dessertspoon peanut oil
- 5/8 cup chicken stock
- pinch each salt and sugar
- good pinch monosodium glutamate
- 1/2 teaspoon ginger sherry
- 1 dessertspoon oyster sauce
- parsley
1. Cut the chicken breast into very thin slices. The beast way to do this is to place the meat on a board then, holding it firmly with one hand, slice it with the other.
2. Blend the cornflour with the water and work half into the pieces of chicken. Set aside for a minute or so.
3. Heat the oil till very hot. Fry the chicken pieces in it for 11/2 - 2 minutes, stirring and tossing them as they cook.
4. Add the stock, seasonings, sherry, remaining cornflour mixture and oyster sauce. Bring to a good boil and simmer for 11/2 minutes. Turn into a heated dish and garnish with parsley.
