Hairy Bikers Potato Crisps - Review

Something that every weekly shop used to involve up until I started on my new 'healthy' way of living was some 'posh crisps', either Kettle Chips, Burts, Red Sky, Sensations. So when looking for a new crisp to have as nibbles for movie night I saw these Hairy Bikers Proscuitto & Blue Cheese crisps and thought that they would make the cut.

I do think that they have got it right with the packaging, in a very Jamie Oliver way. It certainly worked to get me to pick them off the shelf and put them into my basket.

Once I opened the bag, the first thing that I noticed was how empty this large bag appeared to be. Secondly was the smell, a lighter scent of walkers smokey bacon wafted up from the bag. So far, not looking so good, I was expecting Blue Cheese, for the price £1.79 @ Waitrose and the taste was primarily bacon flavour. After 5 crisps I still could not detect any cheese what so ever.

On a positive note I am impressed with the crunch of the crisp, although a large 150g bag did not appear to go very far as they are quite a thick cut crisp.

Not a flavour that I would want to try again, however may perhaps give the other flavours a go, Chicken Tom Yum, Kerelan Prawn, or Lemon & Olive Tagine. I may be waiting until they are on offer before doing this!
