Learn, how to make frankie - a testy combination of roti and fresh vegetables


Frenkie is very testy and healthy recipe. It contains wheat and green vegetables so it is full of vitamins and carbohydrates also.


Serves - 6
Preparation - 20 minutes
Cooking time - 10 minutes




Ingredients to make Frankie:


For roti:


Wheat flour     : 1 cup
Bread slice      : 2
oil                   : 1 tea spoon
Salt to taste
butter to shallow fry frankie


For stuffing:


Potatoes                      : 3 - 4
Onion                          : 1 big

Chopped carrot           : 1/4 cup
Green chillies               : 3 - 4
Crushed ginger            : 1 tea spoon
Rosted jeera powder   : 1 tea spoon
Bread crumbs              : 2 table spoon
Garam masalo              : 1/2 tea spoon
Chopped coriander      : 2 table spoon
Jeera a pinch
Oil for deep frying
salt to test


For chutney:


Dry mango powder     : 1 table spoon
Red chilly powder       : 1 tea spoon
Salt to test
Garam masalo a pinch


For salad:


Onion                       : 2 - 3
Red chilly powder     : 1 tea spoon
Salt to test


Great GingerbreadMethod to make Frankie:
  1. Make dough from flour,salt,oil and crushed breads (without sides), now make rotis from it.
  2. In oil fry onion after adding jeera,now add ginger and chilly  pest then add boil green peas and chopped carrot,fry for some time then add boiled and meshed potatoes and sprinkle dry masalas and chopped coriander.
  3. Let it cool at room temp. Now make rolls from stuffing,add bread crumbs if required.Roll them in bread crumbs and deep fry in hot oil.
  4. Take a roti apply some chutney on it spread some salad and put roll in middle of roti. Fold roti from both the sides and shallow fry on non-stick tava with little butter.
  5. Serve hot Frankie with tomato sauce.
To make chutney:


Mix dry mango powder,salt and red chilly powder in sufficient water.


To make salad:


Mix red chilly powder and salt to sliced onion.
