Learn, how to make Indian traditional rice pudding recipe -Kheer
Kheer is cooked in different manner. Here it’s an honest try to cook kheer in microwave to save time and make it simple. Kheer is made out of milk, sugar and rice so it is full of calcium and carbohydrates.
Serves - 6
Preparation time - 5 minutes
Cooking time - 17 minutes
Ingredients to make Kheer:
Full fat milk | : | 7 cups |
Rice | : | ½ cup |
Green cardamoms | : | 4 - 5 |
Blanched almonds | : | 20 |
Saffron | : | 3 -4 |
Pistachio (pista) | : | 8 – 10 |
Raisins | : | 8 - 10 |
Method to make Kheer:
- Bring the milk, cardamoms and rice to boil on the fire.
- Pour into a microwave-safe bowl. Microwave at 100%power for 2 minutes or till the milk comes back to a boil again.
- Reduce power level to 80% and continue to cook for 15 minutes, stirring thrice. Add the sugar, raisins and continue to cook 2 minutes more.
- Stand 5 minutes.
- Chill well before serving or in winter, serve hot.
- Garnish Kheer with almonds, pistachio, raisins and saffron.
