- 1 tbsp coconut oil or any other oil
- 1/2 tsp mustard seeds ( rai / sarson)
- 1/2 tsp urad dal (split black lentils)
- 1 tsp chana dal (split Bengal gram)
- 1/2 tsp grated ginger (adrak)
- 2 whole dry Kashmiri red chillies , broken into pieces
- 4 to 5 curry leaves (kadi patta)
- 1/8 tsp turmeric powder (haldi)
- 2 1/2 cups cooked rice (chawal)
- 1/2 lemon
- salt to taste
Heat oil in kadhai and add mustard seeds.
When the seeds crackle, urad dal, chana dal, ginger, red chili and curry leaves, add 2 to 3 minutes on a medium flame, sauté, while stirring constantly.
Turmeric powder, rice, lemon juice and salt and mix well.
Serve hot.
