This religious festival is celebrated on astami of krishna paksh of shravan month according to the Hindu calender with great devotion and zeal. It is also known as Gokulashtami and Krishnaasthami.
Soaking time - 4 to 5 hours
Cooking time - 5 minutes
Serves - 4 persons
Ingredients to make Sabudana ni Khichdi:
250 grams sabudana - sago
(Washed and soaked for 4 - 5 hours.)
150 grams potatoes - boiled
1 table spoon powder sugar
2 table spoon oil
Salt to taste - sindhav salt
1 table spoon red chilly powder
1 table spoon lemon juice
1 - 2 green chilly crushed
For garnishing:
Pomegranate seeds
chopped coriander
Fried potato chips - Farali chevdo
Roughly crushed masala peanuts

Ingredients to make Sabudana ni Khichdi:
250 grams sabudana - sago
(Washed and soaked for 4 - 5 hours.)
150 grams potatoes - boiled
1 table spoon powder sugar

Method to make Sabudana ni Khichdi:
- Wash and soak sabudana for 4 to 5 hours in normal water.
- Cook them on steam. Let it Luke warm at room temperature.
- Cut potatoes and mix all the ingredients together. Mix properly.
- Garnish it with Pomegranate seeds, chopped coriander, Fried potato chips - Farali chevdo, Roughly crushed masala peanuts.
- Hot and tempting Sabudana ni Khichdi is ready to serve.
Tips:
- If you are in hurry soak sabudana in Luke warm water. It will take 1 hour to soak. But stir occasionally on both the method.
