Food in Greece

Traditional Greek food is to make the most of the things that are available locally and grown in abundance and put everything to good use. Think of plump, juicy olives with unmatched flavor to begin with and before you turn your nose up, give them a chance to taste great and are not like you would find in a bottle, which just oozes goodness of Mediterranean.

With Greek salad with fresh lettuce and crisp, sweet tomato, juicy and succulent cucumbers topped with feta cheese all over incredibly creamy, you can taste how good it is when you eat. Do not fall into the trap of avoiding the dishes whose names are not familiar with you on a Greek menu, because if you do not believe me when I say we really are losing some of the most fantastic dishes found anywhere in the world.

If you like chicken, souvlaki is delicious, well it sounds strange, but what you actually get is tender pieces of chicken breast threaded on a skewer and served with fries, rice and salad. You may also have pork souvlaki too, which is just as tasty. For lovers of beef, stifado is a must with the meat so tender it just has to cut or chew, all cooked in a sauce with incredible flavor, with fresh baked shallot I have had. Some parts of Greece is dolmades, so you and I, basically, consists of minced lamb with spices wrapped in grape leaves and make a dish very addictive too.
