Hey Sweetie Pies!! Here are a few questions that I get asked often. I can't always respond to all my email so hopefully these answers will help.

Monique I emailed you now why the heck didn't you email me back?
Awww, I sawry. Really I am. I get a crap load of email and I LOVE reading them but the part that sucks is that I don't get a chance to respond to them all (but I do read them ALL.) I try my best to respond back to recipe questions ASAP or at least update the recipe to include the answer. Here is my Facebook Fan Page where you can ask me questions and get a quick answer! I check it regularly.

Can you post more than just 1 or 2 recipes a week? I would LOVE to! Hopefully soon I'll be able to crank out more recipes and posts.  This blog is something that I wish I could work on every single day because I truly love it . BUT a sista has bills that need to be paid, an energetic toddler that says "mommy up! mommy up!" as soon as I sit down at the computer. : ) I'm working on it though.

How did you learn how to cook? I grew up around a lot of "from scratch" cooking women. My grandmother is the queen of all dishes soulful & southern. My mother was a very creative cook. She would create her own recipes and could turn a packet of Ramen noodles into this extravagant meal. I also have a slew of aunts who love to cook and share recipes. Growing up home cooking was just a part of life. It was something that was made fun and encouraged. Everyday there was a huge homemade breakfast, a healthy lunch and full dinner. I can count on both hands how many times I've eaten out as a child (which had its downfalls because now I LOVE fast food!!)

Why aren't there any pork or shellfish recipes on your blog? I don't eat pork anymore for various reasons and I'm allergic to most shellfish. The two are simply not compatible with my body. All the recipes I feature on my site have been made numerous times therefore since I don't cook pork & shellfish I'd feel misleading to list recipes I haven't tried personally. Feel free to ask  me for pork & shellfish recipes though. I have an uncle that makes the best pork & seafood dishes (according to everyone that eats his cooking) I'd be glad to share them with ya!

I sent you a blog award are you going to put it in a post? I love getting blog awards and think it is a great way to discover new blogs & network. I believe the rules for receiving a blog award means that you have to post the award, nominate 15 blogs that you think is deserving of this award, post their links and contact those 15 bloggers letting them know they have been nominated. I love the concept, but I get a few of these a week and simply do not have the time to do these. I will be creating a page of my favorite blogs real soon though.





FAQ'S About Me

Are you married? Yes, I've been married for 8 years now. He's sweet, tons of fun, incredibly sexy, charming, & somehow manages to put up with me. So yeah ....I think I'll keep him. He's been threatening to create a cooking blog that is 10 times better than mine and "blow me out of the water" I welcome the challenge.  We are talking about a guy that asked me how much "confederate"  sugar was in this particular recipe he was wanting to make.  I just looked  at him for about 10 seconds and shook my head. I didn't even tell him it was called confectioners sugar.  LOL Bless his heart. He does try. I love him.


How old are you? I'm 18.  Just kidding. I'm 29. But go ahead and say it...I don't look a day over 20. Say it!...Dangit I said say it!! Wow I don't like typing my age! Where is my youth going!!! Noooooooo.... I still got it though! lol 


Do you have kids? Yes, I have a 3-year old son. He is a lil comedian, totally awesome and a complete mama's boy!! He keeps us laughing and our world completely  revolves around him. We are so inlove with that little person. I can't wait to crank out 2 or 4 more kids!!!


Do you work?  One day I'll be able to say "Work? What is this atrocious word you speak of?" Until then, I work from home. I have a lil sewing biz called Bella Moi that I created a few years ago.  I take orders for all kinda custom stuff like pageant dresses, dog clothes, home decor, wedding favors, etc.. You name it, I've probably made it. It's fun for the most part but not something I want to do for too long.






Would you ever want your own cooking show? Hmmm...I don't know. Seriously though, all it would take is sitting a camera in my kitchen while me and my husband are cooking. Ok think Ceiley on Color Purple when she was watching Mister make Shug Avery's breakfast LOL  Hee-larious!


Are you going to come out with a cookbook? I'm working on it. I'm not rushing it though. I want it to be sincere with recipes I've testing time and time again. I want to really enjoy the process. So because of that I'm taking my time. Hopefully the middle or end of next year.


Are you an only child? No, I have three of the best sisters and brother in the world.  We are all very close. Love them like madness.


Do you cook everyday? Yep, pretty much. Even if it's just something simple like pimpin out a frozen Red Baron Pizza.


How do you make all this food and still stay so thin? Mommy blessed me with her fast metabolism, but it's slowing down tremendously. 


What's your favorite ingredient? Yall don't know by now? I LOVE using my butter flavored crisco and chicken broth! Yes ma'am! Can't live without them!

What is your favorite food? Cheesecake!!! I'm kinda obsessed with them.
