Healthy Swaps for your recipes

Here are some great tips for swapping out fattening ingredients to cut calories.
When your recipe calls for:
  • Cream use Cornstarch(for a recipe calling for heavy cream, sub cornstarch mixed with fat-free evaporated milk) or you can use fat-free half and half
  • Butter use fat-free Greek yogurt(it can replace butter almost one to one in most recipes) 
  • Oil use unsweetened applesauce(it can replace oil in breads, muffins and brownies) or Sunsweet's Lighter bake.  I sometimes do half and half so the flavor isn't compromised.
These are HUGE calorie savers!
