With it being the school holidays, everything seems a little more relaxed in the mornings, no rushing around, queuing for the bathroom, in comparison life is more slow motion when normally I would be setting off for the school run & this morning I get to sit and share our breakfast with you instead.
As a family we do eat out quite a lot, gatherings, celebrations, catch ups, whether it be lunch, brunch or dinner we are out as a team of between 7 and 11 having food somewhere & the fun thing about eating out (apart from no washing up & the vast choice) is the presentation.
I am one of those people who eats with my eyes, it has to look nice, interesting, attractive & inviting. In a restaurant I am always 'rubbernecking' at what other people are having delivered to their tables & changing my mind several times before giving my order.
I seem to have had this effect on my two children too, & so this morning when asking them what they would like for breakfast, eggs and toast was agreed upon, however not just standard boiled egg and soldiers, My 5 year old asked for 'posh' eggs on toast like we get in the restaurants.
So whilst the two of them got dressed with the company of scooby doo on the tv I set to work making a masterchef worthy dish for my two tiny food critics & was met with total satisfaction of the above dish!
I just hope that they will be happy with rice krispies tomorrow morning & not wanting a 'posh' version of these too!!
