Fruit Salad: A Sweet Filipino Dessert to Refresh Your Day

Every country has its own way of preparing fruit salad. Filipinos prefer to make fruit salads as a sweet Filipino dessert or snack. This dessert is served cold here since we are in a tropical country and most of the areas here have a really warm weather.

Though this food is good to be eaten during summer days, it can still be prepared and consumed no matter what the weather is. In fact, almost all Filipino families have fruit salad as a regular dessert since its delicious, easy to prepare, and affordable.

If you want to, you may have fruit salad as a dessert later or your snack right now since it’s really easy to prepare and the ingredients can also easily be found. You may even already have the necessary ingredients inside your refrigerator. If not, look for this ingredients in the supermarket nearest your home:


  • 850g fruit cocktail
  • 168 mL condensed milk
  • 250 mL whipped cream
  • 250g sweet corn
  • 50g cheese

Don’t think of just mixing all the ingredients together. There’s a proper way of preparing fruit salad in order to make it really creamy and sweet. To know how to prepare my special dessert, follow the steps below:

  1. Drain the juice of the fruit cocktail and put the cocktail in a large enough bowl.
  2. Chop the 50g cheese in small pieces.
  3. In a separate container, mix the condensed milk and the whipped cream well. This is for the fruit salad’s creamy effect.
  4. Add the chopped cheese in the prepared cream and mix well.
  5. Pour the cream with cheese in the bowl containing the fruit cocktail.
  6. Drain the juice of the sweet corn and add it to the mixture as well.
  7. Mix well.
  8. Cover the bowl and refrigerate


After 15 minutes, you can already eat your sweet and delicious fruit salad. Enjoy eating!
