Grilled Fish Recipe

If you’re going on a beach vacation or on a family picnic, then grilled fish is the best dish for you. Of course, you can still prepare this Filipino dish during any other day. You can always have this recipe since it’s just easy to prepare.

grilled fish

Fish is often grilled in charcoal fire here in the Philippines. Grilling fish over charcoal makes it more tastier so I prefer to grill using the traditional way. Also, bangus or milkfish is often the preferred fish when grilling. However, I’ve chosen mol-mol for this recipe. Mol-mol is perfect for grilling since its meat is white and really tasty. Mol-mol is called aliyakyak in Tagalog and blue-barred parrotfish in English.

Here is a list of the needed ingredients:
  • 1 large mol-mol (parrot fish)
  • Salt
First of all, you need to clean your fish. Just follow the steps provided here. However, do not remove the scales since mol-mol’s meat is soft so you need the scales to protect the meat when grilling.

Cooking Procedure:

1) Rub the fish with salt
2) Prepare the colas for grilling.
3) Brush the grill rack with cooking oil.
4) Grill the first side of the fish for 10 minutes.
5) Flip the fish and grill the other side for 10 minutes as well.

Once cooked, remove the fish from the grill and transfer to a serving platter. Of course, grilled mol-mol is more delicious if dipped in a sauce.
