Shrimp Curry: Learn a New Way of Preparing Filipino Curry Recipe

We all know about the popular chicken curry. So, I’ve decided to make a new way of preparing the famous Filipino recipe. Since I love seafoods, especially shrimps, I decided to use shrimps instead of chicken meat.
I made it a little spicy for improved taste and I guarantee you that this dish will give you a satisfying meal. I onced prepared shrimp curry and brought it in our office. My officemates really loved it and they sipped all the curry soup.

If you want to try this recipe as well, just gather the following ingredients and follow the instructions provided.
Ingredients:
  • ½ kilo shrimp
  • 1 liter fresh coconut milk (Note: If fresh coconut milk is not available, do not use the canned ones. Use evaporated milk instead.)
  • 1 thumb-size ginger (sliced)
  • 1 big red onion (sliced)
  • 3 garlic cloves (minced)
  • 3 red bell peppers (sliced and seeds removed)
  • 10 pieces green chile pepper
  • 3 tbsp curry powder
  • ¼ cup water
  • Black pepper and salt to taste

Cooking Procedure:

1) Marinate the shrimps in 3 tbsp curry poweder and red bell peppers for 10 minutes.
2) Cook the onion, ginger, and garlic cloves in ¼ cup of water for five minutes.
3) Add the marinated shrimp and occassionally stir for 10 minutes.
4) Add the coconut milk, black pepper, and salt to taste. Simmer for 15 minutes.
5) Add the green chile peppers and simmer for another five minutes.

After the five steps above, transfer the shrimp curry to a serving platter. Serve hot and Enjoy your meal!
