Ingredients:
- 2 Tablespoons vegetable oil
- 2 Tablespoons onion powder
- 1 Tablespoon paprika
- 2 teaspoons white granulated sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper
- 1 teaspoon celery salt
- 1 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 teaspoon powdered sage
Preparation:
- Combine all of the dry ingredients. Lightly coat the turkey with a bit of vegetable oil, then dust on some of the dry rub mix. A light coating is all the turkey needs. Try to get some of the dry rub under the skin for a more intense flavor.
- Let the turkey rest in the fridge for at least an hour before barbecuing so the flavors can absorb into the meat. The seasoned turkey can be baked in the oven at 350F. Cook it on a rack until the internal temperature of the breasts is 170F. Thighs and legs need to reach 180F.
